Silence Speaks Louder

Words aren’t enough

When life’s rough.

We say much

With a touch.

Sit in peace;

Let words cease.

An unspoken word

Is better heard.

Take a stand;

Hold my hand.

Burdens you share

Lighter to bear.

Talk is cheap;

Silence runs deep.

Words are weak

When hearts speak.

Prayer

Prayers aren’t pennies
Thrown into a well;
No wizard or genie
Grants wishes, cast a spell.

God’s no four-leaf clover
Or rabbit’s foot to rub;
God’s waiting, watching over,
Accepting those we snub.

Knocking down another
Pushes everyone down;
Hate will slowly smother
Until we finally drown.

We’re God’s hands,
Left and right.
Together love expands;
Floods darkness with light.

REPOST

PURIFICATION

How can I forgive

What I daily relive;

Smile and pretend?

Pray to mend?

Sigh and shrug?

Sweep under the rug?

Stay in the closet?

Believe I caused it?

Will folks know

Or whisper low?

Will speaking up

Remove this cup

Or staying mum

Keep me numb?

I cannot run

From what’s done;

Erase or rewrite

Make wrong right.

I’m not to blame

For this shame.

All who moan

Are not alone.

I will restore

Each day more;

Stand tall,

Survive the fall;

Again soar,

Win my war.

Trust won’t betray

One fine day;

None will fear

Stranger or peer.

Finally, we’ll live;

No need to forgive

Or see

Another me.
