Reevaluation

Smile, pretend.
Laugh, ignore.
Frown, defend.
Cry, restore.

Time won’t heal
Can’t gradually erase;
Will only conceal
A permanent disgrace.

Enough is enough
When everything’s gone;
No waking up,
No carrying on.

Smile, pretend.
Laugh, ignore.
Frown, defend.
Cry, restore.
